- Common differential diagnoses:
Trauma, incomplete tooth extraction, tooth resorption, unerupted tooth

Has there been excessive drooling or salivation?

Consider FelV/FIV snap (feline)
- Commonly associated treatments:
Consider extracting any retained root remnants, regular radiographic monitoring on older patients, and discuss removing unerupted teeth to prevent a dentigerous cyst from forming
- Commonly associated home care:
Depending on the tooth removed, consider soft food for 1-2 weeks
